Within this division we have the capability to provide a number of highly regarded Environmental specialists to provide the Government, Industry and other Major Organisations with independent advice of the highest calibre. From the provision of reports and analysis, managing grant funded projects, or creating Environmental standards, our team is available to help. We have specialists in non-food crops and in renewable and sustainable energy. All G4 Industries staff work in complete and strictest confidence and all customers can be assured that we will protect and respect all confidential information to the highest standards possible. G4 SSD G4 SSD possesses global expertise in the botany of cultivated plant species including plant metabolism requirements and limits and the energy efficiencies of different genetic material. We are specialists in soil care, composition, function and performance including the preservation and improvement of soil structure, soil nutrition and intergrity, and beneficial flora and fauna. We have long working experience in practical farming techniques such as conservation agriculture, precision farming, as well as advanced agronomic techniques, crop mechanisation and the use of biomass for energy. We have strong and long term working relationships with the global plant breeding community, and have a detailed insight into plant breeding programmes, including targets such as yield, chemical compositon and agronomic traits. We have long experience of handling global crop phytosanitary requirements, seeds and plant products regulations. We link the above technical expertise with a detailed knowledge of land tenure, socio-economic conditions, and agricultural and forestry history, to provide the necessary integration required to satisfy modern day climate and environmental concerns in agricultural project planning. G4 SSD works with global organisations such as the United Nations Foundation (UNF), the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Institute for Agricultural Research in the Semi Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). We are currently in dialogue with the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD), the Global Initiative for Plant Breeding (GIPB) and the Global Crop Diversity Trust. Our senior staff sit on UK goverment and advisory technical bodies as well as UN advisory panels. G4 SSD staff have also worked closely with a range of key UK partners over many years. These include the National Non Food Crop Centre, the National Institute of Agricultural Botany, the Processors and Growers Research Organisation, Linking Environment & Farming, the Centre for Novel Agricultural Products, the Eden Project and several prominent UK universities and UK government departments. |
